About Darby

Darby Pumphrey is an award-winning theatre artist, based in Philadelphia, who strives to make a significant impact on the performing arts scene across the United States. With a diverse repertoire, she has performed in various roles in numerous musicals and plays, showcasing her remarkable versatility and talent. Her performances resonate with audiences, earning her critical acclaim and numerous accolades throughout her career. From intimate black box theaters to large Equity house stages, Pumphrey's work in the arts continues to captivate theater goers everywhere.

In a few words Pumphrey can be described as a bubbly pop-soprano. She thrives in a comedic setting, but is able to really drop into a dark and serious piece of theater. She tries to split her time evenly between performing in both plays and musicals.

Most recent/favorite projects: Mary in the original musical, The Sunkicks Holiday Spectacular (Suncoast Broadway), Elle Woods in Legally Blonde (Milton Theatre), Jill Tanner in Butterflies are Free and “Learn Your Lessons Well” in Godspell (Players Circle Theatre), and Jill Mason U/S in Equus (Fulton Theatre).

Other things that make her heart full: cuddling with her chihuahua, playing with makeup, shopping with her mom, and going to Philadelphia sporting events.
